Aviosys IPEdit now supports Linux & macOS

Aviosys has recently released IPEdit for both Apple macOS as well as Linux in addition to the existing Microsoft Windows support.
What is IPEdit?
IPEdit is a software utility created by Aviosys for editing the network configuration of their IP Power range of ethernet power switches. IPEdit can scan your local network looking for Aviosys power switches. When it finds an Aviosys power switch you are then able to change the network configuration of the power switch. It is usually used to change the default IP address to something that will work well on your local network.
IPEdit Everywhere
There are a lot of organisations that do not have an installed base of Microsoft Windows computers. macOS has traditionally been very popular in the creative sectors and indeed dominates many areas such as graphic design. Adobe Creative Suite and Photoshop both originated on macOS and consequently macOS dominates in fields where those packages are used.
In addition to creating a version of IPEdit for macOS, Aviosys have now also created a version for Linux. Whilst Linux does not have the kind of installed base as either Microsoft Windows or macOS, it is used heavily in some organisations as a desktop replacement for both Microsoft Windows and macOS.
Conclusion
The macOS and Linux versions of IPEdit will be very useful to organisations wishing to remotely control the power to their devices but that do not have Microsoft Windows deployed. Now you can deploy Aviosys based network power switches without having to worry about finding a Microsoft Windows based computer to configure the power switches.
You can download the new IPEdit for macOS and Linux on the Aviosys website.
