Announcing new AKCP Temperature Sensors
AKCP have announced the immediate availability of a range of temperature only and dual temperature / relative humidity sensors for the sensorProbe+ range of environment monitors.
All of the new sensors are designed to work exclusively with the AKCP sensorProbe+ range of environment monitors.
New Temperature Only Sensors
AKCP are keen to promote the use of AKCP environment monitors in regulated environments where NIST3 traceability is important. The new AKCP temperature sensor provides calibration check as well as failover protection.
AKCP are now manufacturing an ultra cold temperature sensor useful for monitoring the temperature of extremely cold environments such as when transporting for use with transporting the mRNA-based COVID-19 vaccines from Pfizer and Moderna. The Ultra Cold Sensor is based on an Resistance Temperature Detector or RTD type sensor made from platinum. As the temperature changes so does the resistance of the metal. This is precisely measured to give a temperature reading with an accuracy of ±0.2°C or ±0.4°F.
New Dual Temperature / Relative Humidity Sensors
There are three new dual temperature and relative humidity sensors. There are two NIST2 certified models with lenghts of 0.3m and an extendable version coming with a 1.5m cable. The NIST3 model comes with a 0.3m lenght cable. All models are available with various cable lenghts up to 100ft.
What is NIST2 & NIST3?
The new sensors, except the ultra low temperature sensor, are either NIST2 or NIST3 certified. NIST2 certification gives calibration check using the dual sensors built into each sensor. NIST3 certification also gives calibration check but also delivers failover in case of sensor failure.
All of the new sensors add a huge amount of peace of mind for users of the AKCP sensorProbe+ range of environment monitors. Taking the sensorProbe+ range into environments where NIST certification is essential.
