CRICKET is widely used to produce graphs of collected data. It consists of two components, a collector and a grapher. Collected data is held in a structure using RRDTool and displayed using a web-based interface.

NMIS started as a SNMP polling and statistics viewer front-end to Tobi Oetiker’s RRDTool. RRDTool replaces MRTG but doesn’t include a front end and backend to handle SNMP polling and display resulting web pages etc.

Cacti is a complete frontend to rrdtool, it stores all of the nessesary information to create graphs and populate them with data in a MySQL database. The frontend is completely PHP driven.
