Packetyzer - Capturing Packets

Capturing packets with the Packetyzer Protocol Analyzer

Starting Packet Capture

Step 1 Double click on the Packetyzer icon on your Windows Desktop

The Packetyzer Main Screen appears.

Initially the screen is blank, but as packets are captured the details appear.

Step 2 Click on the Start the current capture button

Packets that match the criteria set in the currently enabled Capture Filters will begin to appear.

The Packet Received counter will increment as packets are seen, the Packets Filtered counter will increment when packets matching your Filters are captured.

Note: If your Filters are very specific you may have to wait for some time until any matching packets are captured. Packets that do not match will not be captured.

In addition if you have Automatic scrolling during capture ticked, the Packet List view will scroll showing the packets captured. See Global Options, Default Capture.

Stopping Packet Capture

Click on the Stop the current capture button

Packet capturing stops.
