How to use an Nmap Input file to specify scanning ranges
In place of typing ranges of IP addresses into the Host box, you can read the host details in from a file.
The options available are the same as that used for scanning hosts.
Separate items by spaces or new lines.
Step 1 Click the Files tab.
Step 2 Click the Input box.
Step 3 Browse for the file or type name.
Step 4 Click on the file name.
The file name must end in .nmap.
Windows normally adds .txt to the name and as a consequence the file will not work. Make sure that in Windows, Folder Options, View, the option "Hide extensions for known file types" is not ticked. This shows the full file names and you can then edit the .txt from the end of the file name.
