nTap is a passive 10/100 Ethernet traffic mirror which is invaluable if you are experiencing unknown problems from a slow network, or have connectivity issues. nTap is a simple device that will passively mirror the network traffic so that you can analyse and identify the source of your issues using any network monitor or analyser without any additional loading on an already troubled network.
The Ethernet TAP (Test Access Port) provides a permanent access port for analysing network traffic in half or full duplex networks in a totally non-intrusive way. Two mono-directional, none aggregated monitor ports guarantee that all the monitoring traffic is sent to the network analyser to give total visibility of the traffic whilst at the same time protecting the network and securing the monitoring station from potential attack.
- Passive access up to 100 Mbps (for Gigabit Ethernet use nMirror) without data stream interference
- No point of failure or power outage problems
- No need for IP addresses thus avoiding any security problems
- No additional delays to either existing or mirrored traffic
