A) Intellipool is licensed per monitored object. An object can be a server, router or other hardware that can be addressed by an IP number. Included in the purchase is one-year upgrade protection.

Q) What Operating System can I install Intellipool Network Monitor on ?
A) Windows 2000 (SP4), Windows XP Professional, Windows 2003

Q) Do I need to install anything on the monitored machines ?
A) No

Q) How do I update my Intellipool Network Monitor installation
A) Follow these steps

Shutdown your current installation

Install the new version in the same directory
Start Intellipool Network monitor

Q) How can I migrate Intellipool Network Monitor to a new machine
A) Follow these steps

Shutdown INM
Copy your INM folder to the new machine
On the new machine, run "inmservice.exe -i -l WIN_USERNAME -p PASSWORD" to install the service
Start the service (net start "intellipool network monitor")
Notice: if you want to run the service under the localsystem account, omitt the -l and -p parameters.

Q) How do I monitor traffic and bandwidth usage with Intellipool Network Monitor ?
A) We recomend using the SNMP agent. By monitoring the incoming and outgoing octets of a network interface with the snmp agent you can establish the bandwidth usage. The agent can capture statistical data that can be used to build reports with.

Q) Can I monitor log files with Intellipool Network Monitor ?
A) Yes, use the text file agent to scan log files for strings.

Q) Does Intellipool Network Monitor require an external web server ?
A) No, Intellipool Network Monitor has an integrated web server that supports both normal HTTP and encrypted (SSL/TLS) HTTPS.

Q) How does Intellipool Network Monitor store its configuration ?
A) Intellipool Network Monitor stores the configuration in a proprietary high performance database. The database is encrypted with a strong encryption algorithm to prevent tampering and unauthorized use.

Q) Is it possible to develop custom made agents ?
A) Yes, by using the LUA agent users can develop their own agents by writing LUA scripts.
