The Fiber OWL series of kits are multimode fibre certification 10-Gigabit Ethernet ready kits which contain the tools necessary for certifying fibre optic links against a myriad of popular cabling standards in multimode networks, in addition to simple optical loss tests.
The process of testing a network installation to ensure that it meets specified standards requires that hard copy documentation be produced as proof of adherence to these standards. The Fiber OWL kits have been designed to ensure that an installed network will perform as it was designed and that such standards have been met.
- Certification of multimode fibre links at 850nm
- Optional integrated fibre optic length tester for accurate link length measurements
- Data storage for up to 1000 data points
- Built-in loss wizard for calculation of maximum allowable loss values (link budget)
- RS-232 interface for continuous data logging, report printing or data downloading
- OWL Reporter software for printing formatted fibre certification reports
- Absolute or relative mode for giving you instant pass/faill results
The Fiber OWL 4 optical power meter is multimode and singlemode and contains a user-friendly Fibre Link Wizard that performs link budget calculation and sets a reference value using the characteristics of the link. This reference is the PASS/FAIL thresholds and is calculated against the chosen standard. Up to 1000 runs may be stored and downloaded later to a PC.
The Dual OWL 850 fibre optic light source is designed for accurate testing and certification of multimode networks at 850nm. Output is temperature stabilized for accuracy and two connector options are available (ST AND SC).
