Copper Time Domain Reflectometer (TDR) testers will help you to identify and position faults in a length of conductive copper cable. This is achieved by sending a pulsed signal into the cable, and then examining the reflection of that pulse. The delay between the initial pulse and the reflected pulse will indicate the length of the cable or the distance to the fault in the cable.
