Small Rack Monitoring Bundle
ASHRAE Guidelines state that prolonged exposure of operating equipment to conditions outside its recommended range can result in decreased reliability and longevity. Exposure outside its allowable range risks catastrophic equipment failure.
Such equipment malfunction or failure will affect the day to day running of your organisation and will cost in terms of time and money lost. Avoiding such incidents is even more crucial when you have a small server room without sophisticated back-up facilities.
Adequate monitoring of conditions at the top, middle and bottom of the rack will help avoid problems caused by overheating, cooling, heat differential or loss of power and allow you to respond immediately to any incidents. Monitoring of temperature, humidity and power presence will enable you to gain control and ensure long term that your equipment is running in optimum conditions, and, with the remote power on/off capability, that machines are only running when absolutely necessary, saving energy and money.

Questions
Q: Do you have a product which can shutdown up to 8 PC (Windows + Linux) over Network if temperature is too high in the server room?
There are a couple of ways of achieving this. Probably the best solution is to use the AKCP securityProbe5E. This is an environment monitor which has a sophisticated alert notification and actions including automatic server shutdown. Therefore, you could set this up so that it would automatically shut down PCs over the network should the temperature rise above a set threshold. The other way of doing this is to use the Remote Power Switch IP9258-DS, this has 8 power outlets. The only disadvantage is that it would be a switch-off of power rather than a controlled shutdown.
