AVTECH Plug-In Unix/Linux Bundle (Shutdown, Reboot)

The Unix/Linux Plug-In package is available for AVTECH's Device ManageR software (v3.0.1 and up). It consists of 2 separate [plug-ins which can shutdown and/or reboot Unix/Linux systems remotely across the network. These plug-ins can be used to shutdown and/or reboot an unlimited number of Unix/linux systems, individually, in groups, simultaneously, sequentially or according to a defined schedule.

Unix/Linux Shutdown

The Unix/Linux shutdown plug-in is designed to shutdown unix/Linux systems remotely across the network. When loaded into the Device ManageR (monitoring software for AVTECH monitors), users will be able to create a new Activation/Notification list that will use the Unix/Linux Shutdown action when an alert is detected. This action will perform a forced power-down of the target system by connecting directly to the system via Telnet using the settings provided during configuration.

Unix/Linux Reboot

The Unix/Linux Reboot plugin is designed to reboot Unix/Linux systems remotely across the network. When loaded into Device ManageR, users will be able to create a new Action/Notification List that will use the Unix/Linux Reboot action when an alert is detected. This action will perform a forced reboot of the target system by connecting directly to the system via Telnet using the settings provided during configuration.

These plugins are ideal for use when conditions in a data centre environment turn fatal for computer systems and other expensive IT equipment such as extreme temperature, extreme humidity, main power loss, flood, smoke/fire, security break-ins and other conditions. Device ManageR can shutdown and/or reboot critical Unix/Linux systems without any user interaction both automatically and immediately, saving expensive equipment from damage caused by environment extremes that go unchecked.
