securityProbe8 is a full feature intelligent complete environmental monitor which supports up to eight external probes, including power monitoring and up to four cameras. It offers sophisticated alerting via email and SMS so that alerts can be sent even when the network goes down, and can take automatic corrective action such as server shutdown.

securityProbe8 saves you the cost and hassle of installing a separate software application to monitor your environmental conditions.

securityProbe8 has all the software you require built-in. It logs your probe readings and alarms when things go outside parameters you specify using the easy to use Notification Wizard.

Any of the eight ports present on the securityProbe8 can be used to plug in any of the wide range of AKCP probes, including temperature, combined temperature & humidity, wetness, airflow, smoke, motion, power, combined siren & strobe light alarm.

The securityProbe8 has many advanced features like camera support, environmental mapping, mobile phone support, video conferencing and easy to configure advanced alerting including automatic shutdown/power up features.

All AKCP probes use CAT5 cable so can be extended away from the main unit over your existing structured cabling infrastructure. You can make best use of your securityProbe8 investment to monitor multiple locations without the need to install new non-standard wiring.

Intelligent Probes

AKCP supply a wide range of high quality plug and play probes including: temperature, temperature/humidity, smoke, air flow, relay, dry contact and power presence.

Camera Support

The securityProbe can display pictures from up to four cameras simultaneously up to 640x480 pixel resolution.

Professional quality analogue surveillance and CCTV cameras can be used. Built-in pan-tilt controller interface allows complete control of pan and tilt cameras using the industry standard Pelco-D bus.

When using the built-in simultaneous mode, images from all 4 cameras can be displayed at the same time. Pictures are updated every 5 seconds on all 4 camera channels simultaneously. In scan mode, a single image is displayed in rotation from each camera.

For video streaming, both ActiveX and JavaApplet web applets are available. For a single camera, the maximum frame rate is 30 frames per second at 320x240 pixels. The frame rate depends on the number of camera channels in use, image size (320x240 or 640x480 pixels), and network speed.

The securityProbe8 has a single input and output port for audio. The audio input uses a Line-In signal. If you wish to connect a microphone, make sure it is amplified. The connector for both input and output is a 3.5mm stereo jack, though only mono is supported. The output signal is 5Vp-p with sampling frequency of 8 kHz.

Video Conferencing

The securityProbe8 can be used as a video conferencing system. Simply connect an external camera and use the integrated speaker and microphone for communication. Perfect for communicating with people in remote data centres where phone lines may be at a premium.

Environmental Mapping

When probe information is presented in list form it can be difficult to get a true understanding of what is really going on.

With the Mapping Module on the securityProbe8 you can graphically display the probe status on a map of your choice.

You will then have a very simple, non-technical method of discovering exactly where problems lie.

Notification Wizard

The Notification Wizard makes configuring the powerful alerting system a breeze. Configuration has been made completely intuitive and natural. Alerts are configured simply by choosing a sensor, choosing your conditions and what action(s) you want to take. If you wanted to monitor when the Temperature in your server room rises above 60 degrees and have an e-mail to the support team sent, it's now just as easy as saying it.

Notification is based around three items: the probe, the status of the probe and the action(s) to be performed. The Notification Wizard walks you step by step through each item to create a new notification in seconds, not minutes.

You may already have an alarming and alerting system you use for monitoring your network infrastructure. The securityProbe8 will fit right in giving you instant knowledge of what’s going on in your data centre environment.

AKCP offers NMS integration for “Big 4” network management systems like HP Openview, IBM Tivoli and Computer Associates Unicenter TNG.

securityProbe8 fully supports SNMP and includes the SNMP MIB for your convenience.

Mobile Phone Access

No matter where you are you can access the securityProbe8 through your Symbian based (mostly Nokia) mobile phone.

You can access your probe and video information from where you happen to be. No computer required. Perfect for checking up on your securityProbe8 from out on the road to double check the environmental conditions back at base.

Just download the simple mobile application, input the IP address of your securityProbe8 and off you go.

Once connected to your securityProbe8 you can view live streaming video, monitor live probe readings and check for alerts.

You can connect to your securityProbe8 via Bluetooth using the optional Bluetooth dongle.
