AKCP Rope Water Probe Available Soon

The new AKCP ropeWater Sensor features a customizable length of rope that detects any water contact along its entire length.  The rope water sensor is ideal for detecting water ingress in large areas like basements, under raised floors in data centers, roof space (raised ceilings) or anywhere where water ingress would be catastrophic.

The sensor is a switch type sensor that will be either on or off:

New ropeWater Sensor

• Detects the presence of water if any portion of the rope becomes wet
• Customizable length enabling the rope to have a specified sensing region  - in the target area and a non-sensing region from the rope to the sensing module
• Up to 50 meters of rope sensing are possible
• Connects to sensorProbe and securityProbe RJ-45 sensor auto-sense ports

The ropeWater Sensor can be plugged into the AKCP sensorProbe or the AKCP securityProbe 5E RJ-45 intelligent sensor ports enabling the unit to measure water ingress in the location the sensor rope has been placed. This can be used to trigger alerts like e-mail, SMS, phone calls and SNMP traps. With the securityProbe 5E unique mapping feature you can place the ropeWater sensor on a map so you can quickly identify where you may have water ingression. The sensor has its own SNMP OID so that the data can be collected over the network using any Network Management System.
