LinkRunner Pro is designed to provide desktop support and network technicians with a simple, dedicated tool for resolving the most common PC user and device connectivity issues. Unlike traditional 10/100 link testers, LinkRunner Pro verifies Gigabit link - increasingly important for todays high-performance networks. It also pings up to 10 key devices, detects Power over Ethernet (PoE), resolves 802.1X security conflicts, verifies cable wiremap, and identifies the nearest switch port with Cisco, Extreme and IEEE Link Layer Discovery Protocols (CDP/EDP/LLDP). Built-in IntelliTone digital toning precisely locates cables at patch panels and switches

Professional Link Status Reporting

Without test documentation, resolving trouble tickets can be a time-consuming and frustrating process. LinkRunner Pro can eliminate finger pointing and reduce redundant testing by generating objective, professional link status reports that can be printed or routed electronically.

Link at 10/100/Gig - identify device capabilities and confirm actual connected speed/duplex status
Ping key devices - measure response of DHCP, router, DNS and other devices or URLs
Verify 802.1X settings - authenticate with EAP type, user name, certificates and password
Detect PoE service - verify voltage level, and pairs to IEEE 802.3af specifications
Identify switch port - supports Cisco, Extreme, and IEEE Link Layer Discovery Products
Test cable wiremap - measure length; detect miswires, short, split pairs or opens and measure distance to faults with TDR
Locate and ID cable – use IntelliTone digital toning, hub blink feature, or optional cable IDs to locate cables at patch panels or wall jacks
Document test results – save link, ping, PoE, security, and cable test results in unit and upload to PC with USB cable
