NMap-XTRA for Microsoft Windows

Official Website: http://insecure.org/nmap/

NNap-XTRA is a high quality distribution for Microsoft Windows of NMap, the open source network security scanning tool, released under the GNU General Public License.

What if NMap-XTRA?

You can use nmap to scan for open TCP/IP ports as well as identifying which Operating System (OS) a device is running. nmap can scan from a single machine all the way up to an entire network (though that is really NOT recommended).

nmap can be used for malicious purposes. We distribute it because it does have uses outside of the security arena. It is also important that Systems Administrators have in their toolkit the same tools as their potential (or indeed actual) crackers.

NMap-XTRA includes the nmap command line program as well as nmapwin, a Microsoft Windows GUI for controlling nmap. Using nmapwin you don’t need to remember a long sequence of commands -- just start nmapwin, tell it what you want -- and nmapwin will carry out your command and then show the results.

nmap can also be run as a Microsoft Windows service and run at specified intervals.

NMap-XTRA Features

The NMAP-XTRA supports Microsoft Windows. It contain nmap a powerful security scanner as well as NMapWin a user friendly GUI.

nmap main function is to check firewalls, servers and workstations for vulnerable TCP/IP ports. It is especially useful for checking for services (like FTP or SMTP) left unintentionally switch on. A service is only vulnerable to attack if it is switched on.

nmap has the following features:
