Ethereal Protocol Analyzer Version 0.10.0 Enhancements
This Ethereal-XTRA distribution includes the latest release of the Ethereal Protocol Analyzer version 0.10.0. It includes improvements to the user interface as well as enhancements and extensions to features already included in earlier versions.
Improved Performance
Performance issues have been addressed in this release. Expect to see a 2-3 times speed increase when loading and working with capture files.
User Interface
The main application menu options have been rearranged along with a series of other, smaller UI enhancements.
Filtering
It is now possible to set a "matches" display filter. This has an additional advantage that it also supports Perl-compatible regular expressions.
Updated Help files
The help texts have been improved in this release.
Capture Window
The capture progress window includes bar graphs.
Protocols
This release fixes known problems in the SMB and Q.931 dissectors which could cause Ethereal and Tethereal crash.
