rectification of the formulas

from the formulas;

Area = L X W x 337
Lighting = Total lighting watts X 4.25
Euipment = Total watts of equipments X 3.5
Occupants = N X 400

where does the exact value of 337, 4.25, 3.5 and 400 came from? can you please show me the Long method of that??
Please help me.
